Vacancy: International Purchase Manager

As a leading international supplier in the maritime sector, we ensure that ships around the world are stocked with everything they need: from fresh food and beverages to technical components and critical spare parts. Behind this high-quality service is a tightly organized purchasing department – and that’s where you come in.
Based at our vibrant headquarters in Barendrecht, you’ll work at the heart of our operations as International Purchase Manager. You’ll be responsible for optimizing inventory, securing competitive purchasing deals from reliable suppliers, and ensuring we consistently meet our clients’ expectations: quality, speed, and reliability.
What will you be doing?
- Develop and manage the strategic purchasing policy for various product categories
- Negotiate with (inter)national suppliers on pricing, quality, and delivery terms
- Analyze market trends and identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements
- Build long-term relationships with our suppliers, with a focus on sustainability and innovation
- Collaborate closely with logistics, sales, and operations to ensure a smooth supply chain
- Maintain the item database within Business Central
- Perform stocktaking activities
What do you bring?
- At least 5 years of experience in a similar purchasing role, preferably in the maritime sector
- Strong negotiation skills and a commercial mindset
- Excellent communication skills in both Dutch and English
- Experience with ERP systems and data-driven purchasing decisions
- A hands-on mentality and the ability to switch quickly in a dynamic environment
- Strong prioritization skills
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Category B driver’s license
- Access to your own transport
- A flexible attitude – this is not a 9-to-5 job
